Description These regulations are identical to the federal Occupational Safety and Health standards for Construction Industry. Each section is the same number as the corresponding federal construction industry standard.

Goals of Regulation 1. Improve workplace safety and health in Virginia workplaces as evidenced by fewer hazards, reduced exposures and fewer injuries, illnesses, and fatalities.

2. Change workplace culture to increase employer and worker awareness of, commitment to, and involvement in safety and health.

3. The protection of the public's health, safety, and welfare with the least possible cost and intrusiveness to the citizens and businesses of the Commonwealth.
