We need responsible, armed Virginians now more than ever, in all public places

In the wake of San Bernardino, Garland, Ft. Hood, Newton, Paris, and etc. attacks, it is clear that "gun free" zones don't work.  What works is to have responsible, trained, peace-loving citizens throughout our public places, vigilant, ready and willing to defend innocent lives against armed evil-doers.

Indeed, this ban is an outrageous incursion on my security as a Virginian. It makes it impossible for me legally defend my self, my family and innocent bystanders in various state-owned zones.

A more sensible course would be for Virginia to take the example of the Swiss: arm the Virginia Defense Force, and provide tax advantages for those who serve therein, and increase opportunities for citizens to train side by side with law enforcement and national guard troops.

Now more than ever, we should be promoting concealed carry and citizen-based security across the commonwealth, and not creating new enhanced killing zones for jihadis and lunatics.

Very concerned,

Nicholas Grenier
