This amendment is too vague when it comes to "sensitive or controversial materials." Firstly, is there a limit to how many classes of a subject a student can miss? What if the amount of topics that offend the individual number into the dozens? It is basically an excuse for a child to get out learning something boring. While many will take this seriously, I am positive others will take advantage.
In addition, the idea of even letting students out of class because they feel that the information is too muvh for them will get a huge reality check in college. This is why people laugh and say the youth isn't ready for the "real world." We're pushing them into a safe, tiny, padded room in which they will not be forced to deal with opposite opinions or have to evaluate their personal morals and values. We are setting them up for failure and ripping away their skills of analyzation and thought.
Just don't pass it.
