It continues to be beyond comprehension as to how candidates can become elected to public office, who turn a blind eye to well-established facts, long term and well documented statistics, basic common sense, not to mention, the will of the people, and the Constitution itself!  This mentality would not work in any other venue (global warming excepted) e.g., in the fields of Biology, Chemistry, Science, etc., so how these people keep being elected is beyond reason.
