Virginia does not require drivers to inform officers if a gun is in the car.  Where out of state drivers would calmly hand their CCW and drivers license to the officer at a traffic stop, many will now just keep quiet. This will increase problematic public/peace officer interactions.  Others will open carry instead of concealed. While open carry is an important right to have, it has its problems and can be dangerous in a bad situation.  The Va State Police Superintendent Col. Flaherty has a responsibility to keep his officers and the public safe. He should refuse the recommendation of the Attorney General, and if forced to go along by the Governor, respectfully resign.
