Gun bans have nothing to do with gun safety

There are no data to support the idea that restricting the presence of firearms increases safety. Data from around the world are either contradictory or correlative, the only discernable pattern being that areas with strong "gun control" adjacent areas with less "gun control" have higher rates of both violent and nonviolent crime involving the use of firearms.

There are data that support the theory of "mass shootings" happening, or at least initiating, in such "gun free zones", which suggests that these zones then become more valuable targets for violence, as the odds of immediate retaliation are greatly diminished.

Furthermore, this regulation would only prevent a law-abiding citzen from carrying a concealed weapon into the affected areas. Law abiding citizens are by definition not a threat, and there is an ample supply of data that show criminals do not follow laws.
