Governor McAuliffe has grossly misused his power to intervene in emergencies. There is no emergency that could justify his recent action. The governor knew he could not get his anti-gun law through the legislature so he misused his emergency powers to skirt the legislative process in order to force a law he desired upon the people of Virginia.
This change in the law needlessly complicates it and will likely cause some law abiding citizens to unwittingly violate it as they go about their day to day activities. The governor has put at risk workers and visitors to state agencies, as vicious mass killers prefer to perform their nefarious acts in locations where intended victims are as defenseless as possible.
The people of the Commonwealth are not amused by your political games and illegal acts at limiting or reducing our liberties as inumerated in our national and state Constitutions. If your goal is to make criminals of every gun owner in Virginia, then you will need help enforcing those laws as there aren't enough law enforcement in the state to make it happen. You will end up being disgraced as a governor and carpet bagger politician that you are.
History is on our side, governor. I suggest that you halt ALL of your nefarious acts and just sit back and enjoy the glory of your job while you have it. Your willingness to endanger the lives of the citizens of the Commonwealth will not be forgotten come election time.
