I was shocked to learn the Governor had issued an Executive Order preventing the citizens of Virginia from protecting themselves while working or conducting business in State office buildings. Eliminating ones ability to protect themselves, and others, from terrorists attacks simply makes no sense and is detrimental to the safety of all citzens of Virginia and our guests. The thought that an off duty Virginia State Trooper could not legally enter into the Department of Motor Vehicles to conduct business is simply appalling and eliminates a necessary layer of public safety. The Executive Order elimating the abilty for fellow citizens of Virginia to protect themselves has simply flown under the radar screen and needs to be more thoroughly examined by fellow citizens. I am therefore requesting that the public comment period be extended 30 days in order for the news media to expose this horrorific attempt to make the buildings where the business of the State of Virginia is conducted into a very dangerous place. The previous regulations seem to be adequate and should not be changed.
