A well regulated militia being necessary for the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. This may seem silly to some or even dangerous, but our founders understood that an armed population was necessary to not only keep the people safe but to keep them free. The right of free person to bear arms cannot be given nor can it be taken away only someone who isn't truly free could have such a necessity deprived. Last I checked this was still America and in America we the people are free, and we are also in charge!
