Citizenship should be established when one registers to vote. When one comes to his/her poll to vote an expired photo identification card should be accepted as valid. My understanding is the purpose of the voter photo ID requirement is to verify the identity of a voter. An identification card with a photograph and name isshould be sufficient to prove the voter's identity. The expiration date has no bearing on an individual’s identity. Requiring some IDs to be unexpired, while others are not, provides an inconsistent application of the law.
