sonogram/ultrasound prior to pregnancy termination

I vehemently object to the proposed legislation that requires women to undergo an ultrasound prior to termination of pregnancy. This is an added expense that is unncessary.  As abortions are not oten covered by health insurance and certainly not covered by federally funded insurances, the financial burden lies on the patient.   With the reduction in funding to organizations such as Planned Parenthood, who is to bear the cost of these tests?  Would Medicaid or other federally funded programs cover the cost of the ultrasound?  And if so, would the payment be rescinded if termination was still to follow? Would there be a time limit ie.  ultrasound done at 3-6 weeks to confirm pregnancy and termination following at 8-10 weeks? Insurance does not generally cover a diagnostic ultrasound so early in pregnancy and certainly not for confirmation of pregnancy.

I implore you, please do not allow this legislation to pass.  It is 10 giant steps backward in the rights of women.
