TRAP Regulations

These regulations place an undue burden on Women's Health Care facilities. There is no evidence to support the need for stricter regulations. Pregnancy termination services and other ambulatory women's health care procedures have an impressive record of safety. The regulations are overly stringent and are not based on clinical scientific evidence, but rather seem to serve the sole purpose of limiting access to services that are legal. Nobody is in favor of abortion, and the decision to terminate a pregnancy never is an easy one to make. Women who have to make these difficult decisions deserve to have access to services within the health care system that are accessible, and should not be forced back to pre-1973 types of venues because these burdensome regulations force current delivery sites to close because they cannot meet the proposed regulations. Please ensure that all health care services' regulations are based on scientific, medical evidence rather than on politically expedient views that will serve to deny women potentially lifie-saving treatment.
