I'm a tenth grader in English honors.  I consider myself well-rounded and experienced for my age as I'm a military kid who has moved all around the world.  I have toured Anne Frank's home and I've lived in Germany for many years - hearing about the Holocaust from the German as well as the American standpoint.  The books that I've been asked to year since being in FCPS  have definately had a negative effect on me.  I have at times, told my mother that they've made me feel depressed and as a teenage boy - I don't need to read topics such as boy on boy rape, family incest, etc.  I know it's out there but I don't need to read about it over and over again.  Please give us options with alternative books or to opt out.
