Strongly Support this Amendment

I strongly support this amendment that requires parental notification of the teaching of sensitive and potentially objectionable material in our schools.  Teachers have an obligation to let parents know when they plan to require that students read certain books that contain graphic descriptions of topics such as beastiality,  incest, rape and sodomy.  Parents also have an obligation to their children to be involved in what is being taught in our schools.  I strongly suspect those who object to this amendment have not actually read much of the material taught in high school today.  As a thirty year Navy veteran I was shocked at several of the required books being taught, all in the name of "good literature."  If this amendment take some of the "control" away from teachers then so be it. It's high time parents step up and play a more assertive role in our educational process!
