I do not believe this regulation will accomplish its intended result. Teachers are professionals and consider carefully the literature they are teaching. There is no attempt on a teacher's part to keep what they are using in their classrooms a secret. It is listed in the curriculum and in Henrico, teachers post daily what is going on in the classroom. Teachers will gladly answer any questions from parents about any concerns they have. It would be impossible for anyone in any profession to know what is going to offend each person. I fear that we would end up with very few choices for literature if we try to censor everything that offends even one person.
