Good afternoon, my elected leaders.
I write from Afghanistan to support the Board of Education's amendment to the regulation. As a deployed father, I want to be sure my seven children in Stafford County are not exposed to controversial material that I am unable to review with them. I take my role seriously and know other parents feel the same way.
This is an apolitical issue and I applaud the Board for taking this matter up in the public forum. The risk of censorship is small compared to the damage that can be done to young minds. If there is any question over whether material is suitable or unsuitable, let us err on the side of caution. I ask that you do just that in accordance with the wishes of your constituency.
Thank you for your time, attention and support to our deployed citizens. You make it possible for us to serve with unclouded minds and shoulders firmly set to undertake the mission.
Very respectfully,
Roman Vitkovitsky
