I would like to see more of a partnership between the schools and parents.  The goal of education should be to present a wholesome education that emphasizes good character development and good relationship building.  I doubt the edifying effect of assignments that have shock value except to encourage students to take more risks.  They should be encouraged to step out of their comfort zone in tasks that have lasting value not engage in this type of risky behavior.  These lessons only tend to break down the value system.  Parents should be informed of assignments with questionable subject matter and be given the opportunity to walk alongside their students if these assignments are necessary for the purpose of the course, which I doubt.
