I find the proposed rate change appalling. There should be consideration for nursing license fees to have federal protection because it feels as though LPN/RN/APRN roles are being asked to carry the brunt of the cost related to CNA verification. When you compare our nursing license fees to that of our neighbors we are already paying more than the surrounding states. NC and MD list their RN/LPN rates are $100 biennial renewal. MD is also considering increasing their RN/LPN rate but from $100 to $187. While still a substantial increase it is not the 62-67% proposed by the VBON. Please reconsider and remember who these changes will impact.
