concerns - pet stores

Pet stores should make caring for the animals their utmost priority, as it is their most important item for purchase. There should never be pets that fall ill to virus and disease, are underweight, not socialized properly, and intentionally harmed. There should be stringent standards of care for these animals. These animals become part of families and should be treated as such.

I am extremely concerned about the lax standards of care for pets in pet stores. The very existence of pet stores is of concern, however the intent to earn income and provide a service is understandable. Retail sale of living animals should provide consumers with animals that received excellent care and who are as healthy as possible!
