Virginia is Not Prepared to Mine Responsibly

Gold mining in Virginia has a history of unmanaged waste and a legacy of pollution. Since many mines closed in Virginia in the last 100 years, regulations have not kept up with what we know about mining, pollutants, and protecting our waterways and citizens. It may never be right for Virginia to OK gold mining again, but we are not prepared to protect ourselves, our waterways and our future now.
