Support to conceal carry in National Forest; recent events

On February 28, 2010 two students from Virginia Tech; David Lee Metzlwer and Heidi Lynne Child were found slain at Jefferson National Forest.  At this point, we do not know who, or why this brutal murder took place.  We do not know if anyone was around that could have been able to help.  There are a lot of "if's" to this crime.  What I do know is this:  gun violence is NOT connected to the ability to legally carry a concealed weapon on National Forests.  These bright youths, who had their whole life ahead of them, was easily shot dead by a criminal/s who randomly targeted them.  David and Heidi, if they had a concelaled weapon, might have seen what was about to happen, and had just enough time to draw, and hold off a horrendous attack.  But without a weapon, hey had zero chance, rather than a small or a good chance, of protection.  The federal government, buy taking away the ability for citizens to protect themselves in the absence of law, or help... is condeming people to a zero chance of protection, in order to apease those that feel there is NO need for protection at all.  I honestly think that the Forest Rangers that come out agains concealed carry, are fearful of facing the fact that handguns have ALWAYS been brought onto National Forest land.  I would guess that the increase in weapons on Federal land would be insignificant. Please allow the conceal carry in National Forsts.
