ARE NOT VISITING

  1. Include Item 313 #27 s in the legislative budget.
  2. Exempt Live-In Caregivers from Electronic Visit Verification (EVV)  They are already identified by the fiscal agents that directly pay the providers with the funds from DMAS.
  3. This is a Language Only amendment that has little if any cost associated.
  4. Any costs would be primarily the responsibility of entities other than DMAS, for example, the fiscal agents. Any other costs are being overstated by DMAS as purely oppositional.
  5. The federal Center for Medicaid Services (CMS) allows Live Ins to be exempted and other states have done so.
  6. This requirement for Live Ins to be included creates an excessive burden for people who live the individual - ARE NOT VISITING- and have the primary burden of care.

Thank you for your assistance,
