Do we really want to water down appraisals??
Do we really want to water down the appraisal process? How many loans will get made that shouldn't be made because of this process? This is coming at a time where we’ve had a long run of price increases and the market appears poised to make a change at some point. Thus infusing the valuation space with appraisal waivers and products like this seems risky as well as convenient for lenders and big data companies to try to increase their volume. This rule change seems poised to be a huge benefit for big data. What about the public though?
