I Strongly Oppose This Regulation

As someone who has been the victim once before of someone trying to kill me and not being prepared to defend myself, I vowed that never again would I be in that situation.  Banning concealed carry anywhere only increases the ability to be at the mercy of a crazed person going on a rampage and once again becoming a victim.  Thus, this action would also restrict my ability to access government as I would be forced with making a decision to either be unprepared again or not avail myself of the services provided and stay safe.

I guess we did not learn our lesson when we had a crazy person kill 12 and injure 3 others at the Washington Navy Yard, a facility that had armed guards and forbid personnel to carry concealed weapons on the facility.  I guess we did not learn our lesson when we had a crazy person kill 13 and injure 30 others at Fort Hood, a facility that had armed guards and forbid personnel to carry concealed weapons on the facility, not to mention the second incident where 3 were killed and 16 injured because there was no policy change after the first shooting.

There is not enough money in the State Budget to hire enough guards to ensure our safety while in State facilities.  There is not enough money in the State Budget to defend against the multitude of lawsuits that will ensue if a mass shooting should occur at a State facility.

Allowing concealed carry holders to continue to carry their weapons while in State facilities adds a force multiplier at absolutely no cost to the citizens of Virginia and increases our overall safety.  Banning the ability for concealed carry holders to carry their weapons in State facilities just creates a less safe environment and cost risk for the citizens of Virginia.

Please stop this unnecessary and risk laden policy from being implemented.
