What are we trying to accomplish here?

Consider the problem of "gun violence" - actually people violence, a problem we all want addressed.  Now consider the act of banning guns on Government property.  And ask: will this make anyone safer? Disarming your law abiding CCP holders and your public servants and then announcing it to the world? Mass shootings happen where people are helpless.  Making more areas defensless does not take us in the right direction.  This legislation will only entangle lawful carriers, forcing them to leave arms in cars, where theft can occur, and disarming them, where they can become helpless victims, or turning CCP holders into law breakers. It does not stop criminals, as they do not obey laws anyway!!  Lets address the problem, and abandon this "ban guns on government property" folly.
