I Oppose this Ridiculous Regulation

Almost a  year after the fact, Governor McAuliffe has yet to define the "emergency" under which he issued his executive order. This is most likely due to a total absence of any actual emergency requiring it.  This is not due to an emergency. It is not for "security". It is purely a middle finger, gratuitously extended to gun owners.

Here is an example of the stupidity of this regulation:  There is an Executive Order, No Firearms sign on the front of Jamestown Settlement.  Going through the doors at the annual Military Through the Ages event, I photographically documented an array of fully-functional firearms, starting with a 14th Century handgonne, and culminating in an M16, M203 grenade launcher, and an M60 machinegun. No, those latter  were not in the 111th FA National Guard camp. They were being displayed by Vietnam reenactors.  Incidentally, the matchlock musket that I myself was carrying, fit approximately into the middle of the pack.

Fortunately, nobody from the Governor's office was idiotic enough to toss Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation's biggest money-making event of the year out, for trespassing.
