New regulation banning concealed firearms in executive branch: bad idea, decreases public safety

The new governor’s executive order “Promulgation of new regulation banning concealed firearms in executive branch” is a terrible idea because it significantly decreases public safety.

This executive order creates additional gun free zones – areas which are proven to attract both mass shooters and terrorists. This is a particularly bad idea because ISIS is currently threatening attacks in the DC area.

This regulation bans off-duty police officers from carrying in areas where they could protect the public and it bans concealed carry holders – one of the most law abiding groups of citizens – from carrying. This new “gun free zone” is creates and environment which attracts mass shooters looking for the highest possible body count and the lowest possible risk. It attracts terror attacks in exactly the same way and it does it in the DC area, an area under threat of terrorist attacks.

This governor’s executive order is a terrible idea and should be repealed.
