This regulation would endanger Virginians

This regulation would endanger Virginians, and I oppose it. Citizens should be allowed to carry guns openly or concealed in Virginia state agency buildings. Banning the carry of firearms in state agency buildings would not make anyone safer. Would crazed gunmen, terrorists or other criminals be deterred by such a regulation? No. Have there been gun crimes occurring at Virginia state agencies that would justify a ban? Not that I've heard of. The only effect of the proposed regulation would be to prevent state employees and other citizens from defending themselves if a violent crime occurred. It's now a well-documented fact that almost all mass shootings have occurred in "gun-free zones," such as the ones this regulation seeks to create.
