I think it is pitiable and sleazy that the big casinos and state gaming edifices have apparently found ways to legally buy off the votes of our politicians so that they are proposing legislation that will harm their constituents rather than help. Many charitable organizations depend on the income they get from the gaming machines to help support their existence and they do a lot of good, much of it unseen, for their members and their communities. It will be another sad day if the politicians in Richmond can't find enough moral fiber to change the legislation so that charitable organizations are exempted from the current proposed gaming ban.
