Comment on the RGGI

RGGI has worked and it works well. It has lowered greenhouse gas emissions. With RGGI in place, the Commonwealth of Virginia will be able to produce carbon-free power by 2050 as specified in the Virginia Clean Economy Act. Without it, we won't be able to achieve that. RGGI has also improved public health. Decreases in air pollution have reduced asthma attacks, premature births, and other pollution-induced conditions.
RGGI has created jobs
and is good for the growing economy in VA and it improves clean energy. Which is a big factor for the future of all Virginians.

We must slow the advance of climate change and address and mitigate against its impacts. RGGI is an effective program, and the current Governor should not end it because of “just political” reasons.

Please leave RGGI in place and advance the good position the state is in to reach the Paris Climate agreement.

Thanks for reading this.
