Keep RGGI so Va. can fund preparedness & resilience projects, keep citizens & communities safe

Dear Gov. Youngkin:

I urge you to drop efforts to remove Virginia from RGGI and instead focus on the programs and projects funded by RGGI to help prepare our citizens and communities to be more resilient, mitigate against flooding and other intense weather damage, and generally improve our preparedness. There is also a business opportunity to support deployment of clean energy technologies, improve our electrical grid and keep Va. competitive in attracting top businesses to the Commonwealth. RGGI has operated successfully for years in numerous other states - it really works to help reduce emissions, similar to Nox-Sox caps we as a nation implemented decades ago. Let's move forward, not backward. Let's get going now, not delay. Thanks for hearing me out.

Sincerely,

Monique E. Hanis, Arlington VA (30+ year resident).
