Vague and subjective

These proposed standards are very vague and subjective. Who decides what is an injustice? Who decides what is ethical?

One goal is for students to become an advocate for unfairness. Not all students perform the same. Children are taught that this is unfair. Because of hidden biases, under served “groups,” reasons other than the individual’s effort, cause some students to perform poorly is what is taught as truth regardless of evidence to the contrary. This is the essence of teaching a bias!

These proposed standards are highly divisive. It highlights differences and encourages students to group up! Encouraging pride in one’s personal and social identity pushes a child to conform to a social identity. Groups and social identities are vilified and pitted against one another, perhaps not in k-12 but now the standardized graduate is ripe for vilification or bullying.

If there is a group to be identified why not as American? Why not unify the students to make a strong chord? A strong America benefits the world. A global citizen benefits no one except himself or a tyrant.

While some aspects are universal truths, such as being thoughtful, empathetic, and peaceful, over all this sets up the student to receive any ideology as acceptable.

Please do not move forward with these proposed standards.
