STRONG SUPPORT FOR CONTINUED LICENSURE OF LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS”

I am writing in support of continued licensure and regulation of landscape architectural practice in the State of Virginia.

Landscape architects directly impact the public Health, Safety and Welfare.  Licensure and continue education requirement for licensure renewal annually is the most appropriate form of regulation to ensure that the public is adequately protected.  licensure of landscape architects ensures that untrained individuals are prevented from engaging in professional practice that substantially impacts public health, safety and welfare.

our bordering juristictions, Maryland and the District of Columbia requires Landscape Architects to sign and seal drawings.  Having a VA license ensures our competitiveness when pursuing projects in these juristictions.

Our firm frequently leads teams to address large scale park master planning and design challenges.  Having a landscape architect license ensures our credibility when leading such teams with other licensed architects and engineers.

Thank you for keeping Virginia competitive by keeping Landscape Architecture licensure.

Connie
