I've reached out to the DMAS EVV email and the Anthem EVV email and can't get the answers I need. Sometimes it's even weeks before they reply to my emails. We need to know what we're supposed to do if a patient's GPS location can't be captured due to them living in a rural area and them not having a landline phone for telephony. They are trying to scare us by saying our claims will be denied if they aren't EVV compliant, but this situation is out of our hand and they haven't given us a way to handle it. We can't just stop providing care because we can't capture their location. That's neglectful and wrong. DMAS needs to be concerned about the patient and give us answers on how to handle this. It's going to cause small agencies to stop providing personal and respite care because EVV is way more trouble and costly than it's worth and gives patients no other choice but to go to a nursing home-seems like that is what DMAS wants due to slow response and very little guidance through this process. The least DMAS can do is file for an extension until they provide some answers.
