Hi Joshua Richardson.  I'm guoting you here : To preserve the integrity of the Professional Counselor Licensure, to establish a foundation of counseling skills competency, and to ensure a probationary Internship is part of the process....

In reply I ask the following.

Are you requesting a standard, which would meet your needs for efficacy of our profession?  Are you connecting at all with the idea that we all have needs for efficacy and competency?  Could your needs be met without 1 exclusive accreditation standard?   Is this not your first thought at all, partly because other options (although many are valuable) are not well known, or they just don't seem to be as established or as commonly supported as CACREP?  Or perhaps is there any impatience of having no solid standard, that to pick one would just get it over with?  Could we perhaps agree on a diverse core without having one background exclusivity that then, cuts off the needs of honest appraisal of our value and skill, which then threatens our survival capacity to gain an income, as counselors who have legitimate backgrounds and meet your standards, but don't go to the same school group?  It seems like you're saying it doesn't have to be CACREP.  Is that accurate at all, as perhaps, the 60 hours with practicum included is most important, as you seemed to mention?

It seems like most people on either side of CACREP don't realize, that we're on the same page, we just don't realize which one.  The page I see everyone on is we want a strong background to agree upon.  If we hurt others to get there, it's a detterrent to any common purpose, and grandfather doesn't reduce or remove any of the damage.
