I am an LCPC in Maryland and a LPC in Virginia.  To limit licensure to CACREP programs does not make sense since so many of us are practicing well with degrees from non-CACREP schools.  The school program does not affect the quality of the counseling practice.

Please consider the losses of good counselors that would be experienced if a CACREP only restriction is imposed.  Many folks would lose current access to quality mental health services in these states.
