I am a practicing LCPC in the state of Maryland, but I was born and raised in rural Virginia; most of my family still lives there. I have observed that available mental health services are difficult to access for my family members, the current proposed legislation has the potential to further limit the availability of quality services to them and other residents. As such, I strongly oppose the current proposed legislation that would exclude graduates from non-CACREP schools to practice their profession in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
