As a counselor it is imperative that we recognize the counseling profession that has been neglected for years. I am a graduate of a School of Counseling that has all CACREP courses but is not CACREP accredited. In my graduate program an internship with a licensed counselor was also a requirement. I resent the implication that counselors from CACREP programs are held to a higher standard. I had the same course work and some of the same experiences that these counselors had. I am true to my profession and the level of care that I provide my clients. Are the ones deciding this licensed counselors who have first hand knowledge of all programs? Be wise and Vote NO to CACREP!!
