Please continue to protect women during one of their most vulnerable times, the decision on whether or not to terminate a pregnancy, by keeping in place the current abortion center regulations. The stress of that decision is enough for most women who are making a choice without the added stress of wondering about their own health and worrying if they will be given the best care possible. Unfortunately, we have seen evidence of substandard conditions and lack of even adequate emergency care at too many of these facilities. In addition, the parental consent rules stand as a protection for underage girls from sexual abuse, sexual predators and coercion. It certainly seems sensible that minors who are unable to enter into a contractual obligation for a simple business transaction ought not be able to enter into a business transaction for something as final and with as long ranging effect as an abortion.
