expiring Photo IDs

I object to making expired Photo IDS not useable as identification for voters.  My concerns are for the many elderly and disabled voters who no longer drive a car and have allowed their DMV driver's licenses to expire.

For someone who no longer is able to drive, arranging to get to a DMV office or to the Registrar for Elections office is often very difficult, especially for those who live in rural areas. People often wait one or two hours for service at our closest DMV office, in Christiansburg. These voters must rely on neighbors, family and friends for rides. Asking  a neighbor or friend to drive considerably out of their way and then wait for several hours is an imposition that most of these voters will consider to be impossible to request.

Therefore, preventing these elderly and disabled voters from using expired DMV driver's licenses as their Photo ID for voting, means that these people have been disenfranchised.  This is not fair to them.  This is not democracy.
