It seems absurd to me to reject expired driver's licenses as a form of voting ID when the state-provided voter photo id does not contain an expiration date.  The fact that the state-provided voter photo id does not have an expiration date indicates that obviously one's identity does not expire.  An expired driver's license means you can't drive - but you are still the same person.

On the other hand, not allowing expired driver's licenses will result in extra bureaucracy.  It means that a person who can no longer drive and thus has let their driver's license expire will now have to go to the Voter Registration Office to get a photo id that has no expiration date on it.  I fail to see what this accomplishes other than extra work for both the voter and the State of Virginia and extra cost to the State of Virginia for having to issue an new card that is not different from an expired driver's license.

In addition, if poll workers have to take the time to check each license to see if it is expired, it will slow down the process of getting in to vote resulting in longer lines and additional frustration for everyone of us who wants to vote without a long waiting time.

Sometimes I disagree with something that at least makes sense.  The proposal to reject expired forms of ID makes absolutely no sense.
