Why wouldn't we want to inform and involve parents? Do teachers think they don't need parental involvement? No one is mandiating which books, just options so eveyone can make an informed decision. Why would anyone see informing parents as more work? Doesn't it take a village to educate? Shouldn't that village be informed? The parents are the ones who will need to take on the responsiblity of helping select an alternate choice with their child. A parent involved with their childs ecucation. What a novel and great idea. I do not see this as more work, just the ablity to make sure our freedom of choice stays viable.
