I oppose any new abortion restrictions or regulations

Excessive abortion restrictions and shutting down clinics does not save lives. In the absence of safe, legal abortion options, many women will seek care from unqualified providers or attempt abortions themselves. Excessively restricting women's options leads them to make UNSAFE, OFTEN FATAL CHOICES. A woman who dies from a self-performed abortion or one performed by an unqualified provider takes the fetus with her, but you have the power to prevent this. If you value the sanctity of life, you must also value women's lives and their safety.

I'm sorry this isn't an easier moral dilemma to sort out, but life and people's health are not black and white. It is your responsibility to safeguard women's health, whatever your religious values.

I oppose any new restrictions or regulations that will reduce options for women. If you truly want to reduce abortions, focus your legislative efforts on education and making birth control affordable and easily accessed. Do not force women in desperate situations to make life-threatening choices.
