|Action||Regulations for Licensure of Abortion Facilities|
|Comment Period||Ends 3/29/2013|
I strongly support the current regulations on abortion centers approved by the Board of Health. These regulations should be made permanent and continue to include the strongest standards.
My family and I do not believe that abortion is health care because it ends lives rather than healing them. However, the facilities do exist and should therefore be made as sanitary and safe as possible. The current regulations are reasonable, common-sense measures to ensure that life-saving equipment is on hand, infections are prevented, and clear written policies and building guidelines are in place.
it is our understading that health inspectors have documented multiple health and safety violations in the facilities and most of the facilities had to submit plans of correction in order to receive provisional licensure. This clearly shows that the abortion industry cannot be relied upon to self-regulate and promote standards of cleanliness and safety in their facilities. Please maintain strong permanent abortion facility regulations to protect the health and safety of women.
