TRAP guarantees poverty for women and children.

TRAP guarantees poverty for women and children.

In the only scientific study of its kind, the University of California at San Francisco spent five years studying two groups of women with unwanted pregnancies: one group who terminated their pregnancies through abortion, and one group who carried their unwanted pregnancies to term. The study found that after these women made their choices, the only measurable difference between the two groups was that the women who carried their unwanted pregnancies to term were THREE TIMES more likely to be below the poverty level within two years of the birth of their babies than women who received an abortion. In short, any politician who says he wants FEWER women to have access to abortion is actually saying that he wants MORE women to be in poverty. Why would any elected leader want more of his or her constituents—citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia—to be in poverty? This is just one example of how access to abortion is necessary for the economic and social justice of women in our society. Oppose TRAP!
