Action | Regulations for Licensure of Abortion Facilities |

I am opposed to the restrictive regulations on outpatient abortion facilities that the Board of Health is scheduled to approve. It is unfair not to grandfather the existing facilities since the type of regulations considered are ordinarily for new construction. This effort is clearly an attempt to shutdown the existing outpatient facilities and allow abortions only in hospital settings which is much more expensive. Restricting access does not stop abortions; it may create a black market, and also force women to go out of state. This regulation has nothing to do with public safety; it is a political move. I oppose it.
