Who here isn’t shocked to find the state wants to remove the hope, ability, and life care giving gives to the clients by trying to provide the time needed to help our clients have independent living ! Respectfully if you wrote this bill and have not spent time in all these homes caring for these clients maybe you should consider a month in the care givers life of caring for these precious lives daily. I personally have worked for 19 years as a caregiver on top of caring for my own family members . It’s not an easy job but very rewarding watching the difference in independence we provide our clients. Me personally I’ve worked more then the pay allows my client to help him travel , grow, learn, meet people, get out of his comfort zone and try new things . Michael used to avoid people , places and life outside in general . After my husband passed recently I stayed faithful in this job then hours where cut already capping us at 56 hours despite availability in respite hours not allowing us to take our client away for a week as I do with Michael . My job is dedication to him and giving him life . There are so many others that also deserve to not be pulled from this opportunity to give life to those needing care.  Forcing clients into nursing home or skilled care will only lower quilting of life and freedom to live more . Please work with the families to keep hours and the ability for our clients to have the care they deserve as in the reality it would be more costly to be in a facility . My client Michael matters and so does my job and hours with him . Redirect more money instead of removing it .
