To start, science shows that the idea that there are "two biological sexes" -- male and female -- is erroneous. I refer you to this article in Science News earlier this year: https://www.sciencenews.org/article/biological-sex-male-female-intersex . This fact alone makes the proposed policy nonsensical. Numbers often touted of "males" participating in "female" sports are grossly overestimated and the two primary sources for these numbers rely on flawed methodology: using public crowdsourcing; cross referencing each other which produces duplication; including participants in not only Olympic and NCAA, but local and recreational sports; they cite sports that have no "biological advantage" like poker, darts and competitive oyster shucking; they provide identifying information of individuals INCLUDING CHILDREN. The language is so broad -- including a reference to "female only...private spaces" -- that it could be construed to mean essentially anywhere. This policy is a waste of time -- time paid for by the taxpayers of Virginia. Hate based policy like this has no place in the Commonwealth.
