Amendments to Board for Hearing Aid Specialists Regulations 2012

The Speech-Language Hearing Association of Virginia (SHAV) supports that Audiologists with their indepth education of Audiology and Hearing function and disorders should be exempt from having to take an examination to dispense heaering aids. There is quite a discrepancy between the education required of an Audiologist and a person who is a Hearing Aid Specialist. There are no strict educational guidelines for Hearing Aid Specialists.

SHAV supports a decision to exempt Audiologists form having to take this test.
