The recent TRAP legislation is overly burdensome and not significiantly, justififbly connected to science or medicine to create a legiitimate state interest in regulating clinics. During the debates in the General Assembly, I did not hear evidence of egregious or unlawful conduct in this Commonwealth, and therefore did not hear reasons why this legislation was needed right here, right now. Extensive, burdonsome requirements for clinic buildings that are unrelated to the services health centers provide and have no proven medical benefit will reduce, or in some underserved communities, eliminate patient access to medical care.
